Mother/Daughter Banquet 2010

Saturday, June 5th was our annual Ladies Banquet. This year the theme was "An Instrument in His Hands." Kristi Colas, a young missionary from Rouen, France, was our speaker and did a wonderful job exhorting us from II Tim. 2:21. She and her sister, who is visiting from the states, also provided lots of the special music. There were 30 women present with several first time visitors. Our church has had some disappointments lately and we were so thankful for the sweet fellowship we had together. We personally were excited because two of our neighbors were present. It was a busy but blessed day!

Mother-Daughter Banquet

Today we had our annual Mother-Daughter Banquet. There were 35 who attended. The theme was "Hidden Treasures." We chose that theme to summarize the "choice nuggets" that we had learned in our Bible study this year. Several woman worked really hard to make it a success--the food, the program, the decorations, the clean-up etc.

Ladies' Bible Study and Breakfast

This morning was our monthly ladies' meeting. The student girls were in charge of the breakfast this time. They came early to use my kitchen. I was amazed as they made "American" pancakes. They had never done it before and they didn't have a recipe, but the pancakes came out perfect. (After 40 years and literally thousands of pancakes, I still look at my recipe!)

We were down in number because of school vacation, but the seven of us who were there really enjoyed the fellowship and then the Bible study. Audrey taught us a great lesson on "the Women in Samson's Life." It was interesting, educational and challenging.

Christmas Tea!

Today we had a Christmas Tea for ladies and girls. We had 22 who came for the afternoon. Besides lots of yummy cookies, we had a chocolate fountain. It was the first time that many of the ladies had seen one--and they all loved it!! We had a great time together. We did impersonations of the 3 woman in the Christmas story for the devotional time. The 3 actresses did a wonderful job and Ando was great in "pulling it all together." Since we are studying woman of the Bible in our Bible study this year, we hope that we sparked some interest for future meetings.

"Spring Cleaning!"--Annual Ladies' Banquet

Saturday, June 14, we had our annual Ladies' Banquet. This year the theme was "Spring Cleaning!" We had a good turnout and everyone enjoyed herself immensely. The message was brought by Sylvia Christy, a fellow BMM missionary. It was practical and challenging to all. I was encouraged by the creative participation of all our ladies.
